Aerometrex is proud to announce the launch of its proprietary aerial camera system, MetroCam. Designed in-house by our technical team and built in the United States by a specialist camera manufacturer, MetroCam is now fully operational. The first MetroCam capture was completed over Adelaide and has produced very high-resolution imagery from high altitude flights.
At Aerometrex, innovation & quality has been at the forefront of our products & services and MetroCam is one more testament to our commitment of staying ahead in the technology curve. MetroCam is going to be a dedicated camera that Aerometrex shall be deploying for aerial captures of its online subscription product, MetroMap. The camera is designed to offer greater efficiency & quality, promising multi-fold benefits to Metromap subscribers such as:
MetroCam enables highly efficient imagery capture from Aerometrex’s existing fleet of aircraft. High-flying cameras such as the MetroCam avoid high-traffic airspace over metropolitan areas, while still producing very high-resolution imagery. It will be able to produce 5cm imagery at the same flying height typically used to generate 7.5cm aerial imagery. At 5cm pixel size, MetroCam resolves 36x more pixels per unit area than the highest-resolution commercial satellite imagery.
